Pope Francis Sends Condolence Message To Members Affected By The Massacre In Ozubulu

Pope Francis has recently frowned on the Sunday’s attack on St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Ozubulu where 20 persons were gruesomely killed.In a telegram addressed to Bishop Hilary Paul Odili Okeke of Nnewi on August 7, the Pontif said he was “deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury following the violent attack in Saint Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu.” The Pope sent his warm heartfelt condolences to the Bishop and to all the worshippers at the Diocese of Nnewi and in particular the families of the deceased and others were affected by this tragedy, and offered his blessings of “consolation and strength” upon the entire diocese. This telegram which was signed by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, came after gunmen invaded St Philip’s Catholic Church in the city of Ozubulu early Sunday morning.Photo Credit:Getty
