Formally trained as an Architect, Lex graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Masters of Architecture (1st Hons), He has several years experience working in the Architectural industry, which includes running his own design practice AMAK DESIGNS with a focus on coffee shops and cafe interiors.
This design niche was a natural decision as he has 10 years working experience in the hospitality scene (an experienced cocktail mixologist, barista, bar supervisor & event manager to name a few roles). Lex has since gained a notable following on Instagram for sharing his unique perspective on his two passions of specialty coffee and menswear fashion.
Living by his personal motto, “Dress well. Drink well. Live well”, his pursuit in this line has led him to working with many reputable brands such as Cathay Pacific, David Jones, Myer, GQ Australia, Mr Porter, St. Ali Coffee and more. MR. GUMBATRON was earlier this year listed as one of the ’25 most stylish Australian men on Instagram’ by Man of Many.
His unique style, aesthetic and influence has proven to be a valuable creative asset to many well established Australian menswear designers, as well as a plethora of new and emerging menswear and lifestyle brands both locally in Australia and in Asia (Hong Kong).
