Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich and his third wife, art collector Dasha Zhukova, have announced they are splitting up. The couple said in a joint statement they had “made the difficult decision to separate” after 10 years together. Abramovich, 50, and 36-year-old Ms Zhukova have two children and founded the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Russia’s most prominent modern art museum.Abramovich is the world’s 139th richest person, according to Forbes magazine, with an estimated fortune of almost £7bn. The Russian, who has owned Chelsea since 2003, divorced his second wife Irina in 2007. Zhukova is the daughter of a Russian oil magnate, and was educated in the US.
Abramovich is fiercely private and rarely gives interviews. For some years, it was a mystery whether he and Zhukova were married, but she confirmed in an interview in 2015 that they had married a few years after meeting.
