WCW: Gabrielle Union Is A True Definition Of A Strong Woman

One of American’s inspiring actresses Gabrielle Monique Union is our woman crush for today. Being able to maintain a successful career and as well a happy marriage with NBA player Dwyane Wade is adorable. Born October 29, 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska, Union grew up with self-esteem issues relating to her appearance, as she believed growing up that blonde women were “the ideal of beauty” and “if I looked nothing like that, then I must be ugly”. She attended the University of Nebraska and was actively involved in sports before transferring to UCLA where she earned a degree in sociology. She began her career professionally in the 1990s, appearing on television sitcoms, before landing supporting roles in teen comedy films. She came into limelight in 2000 in a teen comedy film ‘Bring It On’ and also featured in the short-lived CBS medical drama series City of Angels later that year and the rest is history.Union has had a steady ride through fame and glamor due to the fact that she has managed to keep her head up-high despite all her ups and down times. In 2009, Union began dating NBA player Dwyane Wade and the two went on break before hooking up again in 2013 and finally tied the knot in August 30, 2014, at Miami, Florida. Union is an advocate for survivors of assault and has shown her love and support to a number of those who have suffered the crime. Earlier In April 2017, Union announced her first book, a memoir, entitled ‘We’re Going to Need More Wine.’The book will “feature personal stories and reflections on a range of topics that continue to define the contemporary landscape: sexuality, womanhood, friendship, race, marriage, and beauty.” She described the book as “the good, the bad, and the WTF.” The book, which is to be published by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, is to be released on October 17, 2017.
