Proenza Schouler’s Short Clip Campaign for Planned Parenthood

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of ready-to-wear brand Proenza Schouler, has launched a campaign ad, titled A Film for Planned Parenthood of New York City. Directed by Harley Weir, the short video addresses what it means to be female in today’s political climate, while also highlighting many of the issues faced by women and many members of the LGBQT community every day. It’s an intimate portrayal of shared sisterhood and features a range of activists, artists, sex educators, models, and friends of the designers.Some of the more well-known cast members include Amber Valletta, Hari Nef, Jemima Kirke, Paloma Elesser, Stella Tennant, Grimes, and Hanne Gabby Odiele. Speaking in a statement, Jack and Lazaro explained how they felt compelled to use their platform as internationally recognized designers to help raise awareness and activate change.“In recent months, Proenza Schouler has been driven by a need to stand up with organizations that fight for the causes we believe in,” they said collectively. “Planned Parenthood means so much to the women who work at our company, and to the community Planned Parenthood serves in New York City and beyond.”
